Blync (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we collect, use, and safeguard your information. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the steps we take to comply with global data regulations and Shopify’s Protected Customer Data (PCD) requirements.

1. What We Collect

We collect and process information in the following categories:

a. Merchant Information

  • Store details, contact information, Shopify account data
  • Billing and subscription-related data

b. Customer Data (Protected Customer Data)

  • Name, email, location, order and browsing behavior
  • Shopify Customer ID and purchase history

This data is used only to power personalized product experiences and improve store performance.

c. Usage & Analytics Data

  • App usage metrics, session data, feature engagement
  • Device information, IP addresses (for analytics and fraud protection)

2. How We Use Your Data

We use collected data strictly for the following purposes:

  • Delivering AI-powered personalization and recommendations
  • Improving conversion rates and Average Order Value (AOV)
  • Running analytics to improve performance and reliability
  • Providing customer support
  • Fulfilling legal, billing, and compliance obligations

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party marketers. Data is never used for advertising purposes.

3. Shopify PCD Compliance

Blync fully complies with Shopify’s Level 1 and Level 2 PCD requirements.

Key Safeguards:

  • Data minimization: we access only what’s necessary
  • Encryption at rest and in transit
  • Secure, role-based internal access controls
  • Regular security audits and vulnerability assessments
  • Full support for data deletion and access requests

If you uninstall the Blync app, your associated customer data is automatically deleted.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Merchant and store data is retained for as long as your account remains active.
  • Customer data is retained only for as long as necessary to fulfill product functionality.
  • Upon request or app uninstallation, all data is permanently and securely deleted.

5. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, PIPEDA), you may have the right to:

6. Data Security

We take security seriously.

  • Access is limited to authorized personnel
  • Our infrastructure is monitored and updated regularly
  • Incident response protocols are in place for potential breaches

In the event of a breach affecting customer or merchant data, we will notify all impacted parties and Shopify immediately.

  • Improve UX and feature adoption

We do not use third-party ad trackers.

8. Third-Party Services

We may use vetted sub-processors (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics tools) to provide core infrastructure and support. All vendors are contractually obligated to adhere to privacy and security best practices.
